Gloucester Residents’ Weekend returns for 3 days of fantastic experiences, offers and savings. From the Friday 6th– Sunday 8thApril, anyone who lives, works or studies in Gloucester will have the chance to be a tourist in their own city. There will be free or half price entry to a number of museums, such as the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, Gloucester Life Museum and Museum of Gloucester.
There will also be free city tours on the Saturday run by Gloucester Civic Trust. The free tours cover many aspects of Gloucester’s history such as some of the many important historical figures of Gloucester and a look around some of the wonderful historic buildings. A particular highlight this year will be the Siege of Gloucester tour as this year marks the 375thyear since the siege. There will also be a rare glimpse in to the restoration works taking place at Llanthony Secunda Priory and St. Mary De Crypt with hard hat tours, allowing GL Card holders in to the restoration sites for free on this weekend only (booking required).
On top of the great offers on attractions, there will also be more than 100 offers on food, drink, shopping and leisure. For those looking to try some excellent pub grub The Fountain Inn have 20% off all food over the weekend; or curry aficionados can enjoy 2 for 1 lunches at Aroma, as well as that, Grill Shed have a great offer for burger fans with 20% off at selected times. GL Card holders can also enjoy 10% off food and drinks at TANK or 2 cocktails for £9.50 at Portivo Lounge.
Bargain hunters can browse the many wonderful stores in Kings Walk, Eastgate Shopping Centre and Gloucester Quays whilst enjoying offers such as 20% off at Bench, 10% off Asics, multiple offers at Jessops and Eastgate Indoor Market; as well as lots more in the city centre such as 10% off at Scoot 69, Chez Rose and The Candle Tree.
Residents’ Weekend is also a great time to start looking ahead to summer with a great deal on holiday money with VIP rates at TUI and with a 3 day free trial at Snap Fitness, Residents’ Weekend will be a great time to start getting in to shape for the beaches. There are also sporty deals at GL1 Leisure Centre and kids activities at Oxstalls Sports Park.
