Gloucester Tall Ships

Taking place every two years, this festival attracts in excess of 125,000 visitors over four days to Britain’s most inland port, Gloucester Docks. The festival’s most recent accolade was winning Silver for Tourism Event of the Year 2014.

Summer of Music, Art & Culture: SoMAC

SoMAC provides a great event umbrella for the July and August summer period. The Summer of Music, Art & Culture will host various events including; Art in the City, Carnival, Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival.

Gloucester History Festival
Gloucester celebrates over 2,000 years of history with this annual festival every September. Incorporating Gloucester Day parades, History Talks, re-enactments, the festival also features the third largest Heritage Open Days event in the UK.

Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival
This annual free music festival takes place across nine days in July and August. A mainstay of the summer season, it attracts artists and festival-goers locally, regionally and nationally.

Christmas Lantern Procession
A parade of giant lanterns created by local artists and schoolchildren officially marks the start of the Christmas season every November.

Residents’ Weekend
A thank you to residents of Gloucester for being great ambassadors for the city. It’s also an opportunity for people to rediscover the city’s attractions.

Independents Day
Celebrating Gloucester’s independent shops every 4th July.
