Taking place every two years, this festival attracts in excess of 125,000 visitors over four days to Britain’s most inland port, Gloucester Docks. The festival’s most recent accolade was winning Silver for Tourism Event of the Year 2014.

2016 see’s the anniversary of Beatrix Potter’s Birthday and being the location that inspired one of her most beloved books, The Tailor of Gloucester, the city will see a host of celebrations.
Gloucester History Festival
Gloucester celebrates over 2,000 years of history with this annual festival every September. Incorporating Gloucester Day parades, History Talks, re-enactments, the festival also features the third largest Heritage Open Days event in the UK.
Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival
This annual free music festival takes place across nine days in July and August. A mainstay of the summer season, it attracts artists and festival-goers locally, regionally and nationally.
Gloucester Paint Jam
A brand new festival that proved very successful in August 2014. This festival offers a great visual celebration of Gloucester’s burgeoning street art scene.
Christmas Lantern Procession
A parade of giant lanterns created by local artists and schoolchildren officially marks the start of the Christmas season every November.
